The Tampico Stogies edged the Dominican Republicans at the ballpark by the
score of 7 to 6.
Tampico scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning with 3 runs using 2 hits.
Eric Byrnes got things going when he banged out a single. Two outs later
Hideki Matsui came up and he drew a walk. David Newhan then doubled which
was good for two runs. Jorge Julio then let a pitch get away from him
scoring the final run of the inning. Tampico totaled 10 on the afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Ron Mahay(6-4) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an
inning. Jason Frasor recorded his 13th save. The losing pitcher was Dustin
Hermanson(5-3) in relief.
